City of Coventry Brass was formed in 1965 by Leonard Pepper, a professional Trumpet player and Brass teacher. Known then as the Coventry School of Music Band, its name changed to the Coventry Centre for the Performing Arts Band and now to City of Coventry Brass.

The Band's foundation is based on a wide repertoire of music. Over the years it has toured extensively throughout Europe and the UK, performing concerts, radio and TV broadcasts, as well as major National and European competitions.
